Over the weekend of November 17-18, 2024, a regular seminar for relicensing professional mountain leaders (International Mountain Leaders operating under the international UIMLA Standard) took place at the Victorian Heights Hotel on Popova Shapka.

With this seminar, the Macedonian Association of International Mountain Leaders (MKAIML) launched a new concept in its program for the continuous professional education of licensed leaders. This initiative also marks the implementation of the new regulations and policies for continuous professional development under the International Union of Mountain Leader - UIMLA (UIMLA CPD policy).

A notable innovation in comparison to previous seminars was the involvement of newer-generation colleagues as presenters for most topics. These individuals showcased a high level of motivation, professionalism, and expertise in their assigned areas.

During the seminar, carnets and badges – were awarded to three new colleagues from the 2018 generation: Sonja Manchevska, Mihail Solakov, and Vasil Todorovski. We wish them a successful, safe, and beneficial journey in their profession.

The next seminar, focused on winter-related content, is planned for early winter 2024/25. The exact date will be determined once the mountains have sufficient snow to support the planned thematic activities. Members of MKAIML will receive updates via email, and announcements will also be posted on the association's website and Facebook profile.

The Macedonian Association of International Mountain Leaders extends its gratitude to the staff of the Victorian Heights Hotel on Popova Shapka for their warm hospitality, substantial logistical support, and high level of professionalism.
